Servenco
Created in 1948 by Jacob’s couple of engineers and Clara Steinberg, the Servenco, owner of shopping malls Rio Design Leblon and Barra, started its activities in the sector of development and construction of projects, including residential areas, apart hotels, commercial offices and stores, which totaled about 10 thousand units. In 1983 the company entered the segment of shopping centers with the construction of the Rio Design Center in Leblon, the first shopping in Brazil decoration segment, elected for two decades, the best option for shopping between designers and famous architects, the ones that search what had on the most modern in the market. Due to the success, the company has focused on this economic sector and in 2001 opened the Rio Design Barra.
In 2004 Servenco decided to reposition the malls turning them into entertainment centers and consumer markets and it had the administration of Ancar Ivanhoe to manage this new stage of projects. The bold decision and partnership between these two companies worked so well, which has become a reference model management in market shopping center, being recognized and awarded for the largest institution in the world of Shopping Center - ICSC (International Council of Shopping Centers).
Rio Design Leblon and Rio Design Barra, as it came to be called after the redesign, have restructured to host major brands of fashion and cuisine, making it the best choice of shopping, leisure and entertainment in their regions.
